About Bob

Bob has worked as a full time NHS GP in Galashiels, a town in the Scottish Borders, since 1985. After many years of muddling through in managing musculoskeletal disorders in primary care he attended his first SOM (as the organisation was then called) module in 1998 and has never looked back.

Bob became a Fellow of the Society in 2003 and teaches on the Membership and Injection Therapy modules. In 2005 he was asked to oversee the establishment of a musculoskeletal medicine service for NHS Borders.

Away from work Bob enjoys a wide range of music (from Amadeus Mozart to ZZ Top), performs in amateur productions of Gilbert & Sullivan operas and cultivates the vegetable patch in a very small smallholding while trying to keep his wife’s hens, sheep and horses out of the vegetable patch.
