SOMM’s courses for HEE FCP/AP Roadmap portfolio route supervisors

The HEE Roadmap to Practice for First Contact Practitioners and Advanced Practitioners in Primary Care (Musculoskeletal) provides a clear educational pathway from undergraduate to advanced practice for clinicians wishing to pursue a career in MSK primary care.

SOMM is delighted to be one of the organisations running courses to train supervisors to take clinicians through the portfolio route described in the Roadmap.

To be eligible for the FCPs and APs supervisor training course, you need to be currently working in a Primary Care MSK service in England (either NHS or external partners):

o as an FCP/AP with a full postgraduate master’s degree (UK QAA level 7); or
o as a clinician holding a full postgraduate master’s degree and working in MSK; or
o as a Consultant Physiotherapist holding a full postgraduate master’s degree, and working in MSK; or
o as a GP Trainer, a GP or a medical doctor in an integrated MSK service; or
o as a full member of MACP, working as an FCP, irrespective of completing a full master’s degree

The courses will be able to take a maximum of 14 places and are open to a maximum of 2 supervisors per Trust/CCG. To apply, you must be able to attend both days as listed to complete the training to be a recognised FCP/AP supervisor.
