Advancing Practice in Musculoskeletal Medicine
PM105
Advancing Practice in Musculoskeletal Medicine can be used as MSc module PM105 or as a standalone course for physiotherapists, medical practitioners and other MSK professionals who wish to specialise further in this field. The module develops advanced clinical reasoning, critical appraisal and presentations skills. It provides an excellent interdisciplinary environment for sharing and discussing ideas and clinical experiences.
Developing Professional Practice Module
PM106 (MSc only)
The Developing Professional Practice (PM106) course is for those that want to change an aspect of their work or make it more evidence based. This module is available as an optional module once you are registered for SOMM’s MSc Musculoskeletal Medicine and enables you to carry out a post graduate level, work based project, situational analysis or in depth literature review, integrating theory and practice. Largely self directed, but with guidance and support.
Special Tests in Musculoskeletal Examination
PM107
The need to understand the significance of the many extra or special tests as well as reproduce them accurately has created a demand for our course Special Tests in Musculoskeletal Examination. The module provides a clear explanation of when and why each test should be used and how to perform the manoeuvres accurately. The module covers the theory underpinning the use of special tests. It can be taken as a standalone module or can be used as module PM107 towards SOMM’s MSc Musculoskeletal Medicine.
Theory & Practice of Injection Therapy
PM104
The Theory & Practice of Injection Therapy course reviews and develops the clinical reasoning and injection therapy skills needed to practice injection therapy effectively and safely. It is open to all experienced HCPC registered allied health professionals, registered osteopaths, registered nurses and medical practitioners wishing to integrate these skills into the clinical management of patients with musculoskeletal disorders. This course can be as a standalone or as PM104 module towards SOMM’s MSc in Musculoskeletal Medicine.
