You’ve completed your Society of Musculoskeletal Medicine Diploma (or that of an affiliated orthopaedic medicine organisation) and have let a few months or years slide by, maybe with a few other courses added to your CV. But now you’re starting to need a fresh challenge and could do with a nudge in the right direction. If that is you – look no further than the SOMM’s own MSc Musculoskeletal Medicine!


The programme is a collaboration between the Society of Musculoskeletal Medicine and MiddlesexUniversity and is specially designed to be flexible to suit you.  The programme is also endorsed by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. Once you’ve passed your SOMM Membership exam (or that of an affiliated association) and successfully submitted the final reflective essay and personal development plan – you’ll be a third of the way through the programme with 60 credits already and just 120 to go!

SOMM's MSc Musculoskeletal Medicine is also open to students Students who have successfully completed a course in musculoskeletal medicine provided by affiliated organisations, i.e. Orthopaedic Medicine International (OMI UK); Orthopaedic Medicine Seminars (OMS); Irish Society of Orthopaedic Medicine (ISOM) and other organisations e.g. the Cyriax Foundation, European Teaching Group of Orthopaedic Medicine (ETGOM) and Orthopaedic Medicine International (OMI Global). Further details can be obtained from
