The Society of Musculoskeletal Medicine provides a comprehensive programme of postgraduate courses which are Credit Rated by Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh.
Our courses are aimed at physiotherapists, general practitioners, sports & exercise doctors, consultants, sport therapists, sport rehabilitators, podiatrists, osteopaths and other health care registered professionals in the UK and overseas.
The Society is a leading provider of musculoskeletal therapy and training. Set up in 1979 to carry on the pioneering work of Dr James Cyriax, The Society is focused on advancing study in the field and opening the door for new practitioners and therapists.
The Society’s Foundation syllabus is divided into three units that include the principles of assessment, clinical diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions affecting the ten areas of the body: Cervical Spine, Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist/Hand, Lumbar Spine, Hip, Knee, Ankle/Foot, Thoracic Spine, and the Sacroiliac Joint. The Advanced Module, The Theory & Practice of Injection Therapy builds on the foundation principles to enhance skills in Injection Therapy and advance practice.
In recent years we have run courses in Ireland, Europe, the Middle East and Hong Kong and we are always looking to expand the future of musculoskeletal medicine overseas.
